Ahjonsuu Trade Museum

The original village store and the home of the merchant family in Hauhuula. Museum tours are arranged by prior appointment.

The Ahjonsuu Trade Museum showcases the daily life of a former rural store in the village of Hauhula. The museum features a 1960s store preserved in its original condition, as well as a storage room built within the premises of the older store. The same building also houses the shopkeeper’s family home, consisting of four rooms and a kitchen. The store served the villagers from 1924 to 1978, and the Pusula Society opened the property—received as a bequest—as a museum in 2004. Visits must be arranged in advance by contacting Liisa Jääskeläinen. Access to the site is difficult for people with mobility impairments; please check accessibility before booking.
