Kattila is a starting point and rest area for self-guided hikes in Nuuksio National Park, located on the shore of Kaitlampi. Public hiking facilities include a cooking shelter, restroom, water fountain, and waste sorting station. The Takala Trail, which is approximately 1.5 kilometers long, begins at Kattila; this trail is not maintained in winter. Visitor parking is located at Kattilantie 426: the parking area in the meadow is maintained in winter within a designated area, but the lower parking lot is not. Follow the signs, the instructions for the marked trails, and the current fire restrictions. The accommodation, restaurant, and sauna services provided by Green Window, which operates in the area, as well as the company’s private grounds, are not included in this notice regarding the public hiking area. The campground at Kattila, which requires a reservation, is reserved exclusively for nature education use by early childhood education groups and school classes.
