Central Park Mountain Bike Trail – Laakso Starting Point
The southern starting point of the 16-km mountain bike trail, open to everyone, is in Laakso. The trail is open from May 1 to November 30. Mountain biking, walking, and running are permitted.
The Keskuspuisto mountain bike trail is a wooded outdoor trail approximately 16 kilometers long, open to everyone in the City of Helsinki. The starting point is north of the Laakso riding arena; Auroranportti 4 helps you locate the area around the riding stadium’s starting point. The trail, marked with red wooden signs, runs through Central Park into the forests of Pitkäkoski and Haltiala and ends at the Paloheinä cabin. You can travel the route in either direction on foot or by running. Bicycling is permitted only on mountain bikes. The terrain is moderately challenging: roots, rocks, and steep hills in some places require riding skill and caution. Be mindful of other outdoor enthusiasts and intersections with horseback riding trails. The route is open from May 1 to November 30; outside of this period, it is not maintained for cyclists, and part of it is converted into a cross-country ski trail. The city’s GPX file is for general guidance only, so follow the signs on the trail. Helsinki-info provides advice on city services.
