The statue of Mikael Agricola is located near the Pernaja Church along Pernajantie Road and is one of the stops on the local Agricola Trail. Erected in 1959, the bust is a copy of a sculpture created by Emil Wikström in 1908. The statue honors the developer of the Finnish written language and church reformer, who was born in Pernaja. An information board along the trail describes Agricola’s life and literary work in Finnish, Swedish, and English. This announcement concerns the outdoor statue.
