Oittaan Stream Valley and Nature Trail
An approximately 1.5-kilometer nature trail in the protected stream valley of Oittaa. This free forest hike begins next to the manor; the trail includes some difficult-to-navigate sections and stairs.
The Oittaan Stream Valley Nature Trail runs through protected forest and streamside habitats in Espoo. The city’s approximately 1.5-kilometer trail guide takes you through a spruce forest, the lakeside forest of Lake Bodom, and a black alder grove. Information signs along the trail provide details about the surrounding nature and waterways. The starting point is next to the main building of the Oittaan Manor, at the Oittaan Outdoor Recreation Center, located at Kunnarlantie 33–39. The map marker in this announcement indicates the starting point of the nature trail as designated by the city. The trail is open to the public free of charge. The forest trail is difficult to navigate in places, and there are stairs on the rocky slope toward the end, so the trail is not accessible to everyone. Stay on the marked trails and follow the signs in the nature reserve. Visiting hours and winter maintenance have not been specified. The phone number and email address listed are for Espoo Environmental Services; there is no guarantee that staff will be on site.
