Our Delicious Journey

Eurolohi was founded at Tammelantori back in 1993. The owner at the time had traveled the seas of Europe and tasted delicious, very thinly sliced salmon there. An idea was born: Tampere needed to offer this delicious salmon for everyone to enjoy! That’s how the story of Tampere’s Eurolohi began, and the name itself also originated from those European seas. Right from the start, Eurolohi’s dishes were based on fresh, high-quality ingredients and delicious spices and flavors. Combined with thinly sliced, grilled salmon, these elements formed Eurolohi’s magnificent dishes. Eurolohi at Tammelantori quickly rose to great popularity and became one of Tampere’s most popular summer restaurants!

From a Summer Restaurant to a Year-Round Establishment

In 2018, ownership of Eurolohi was transferred to Tuukka Mäntylä, who had been a customer at Eurolohi since its early days. Right from the start, the plan was to expand Eurolohi into a year-round restaurant, and this dream became a reality in the fall of 2020. It was a challenging time, as the pandemic had begun in the spring, and the first few years required a lot of work and time. However, customers enjoyed their time at Eurolohi, and little by little, larger crowds began to discover the new restaurant in the Market Hall. Now, Eurolohi at the Tampere Market Hall has become a popular lunch spot thanks to its delicious salmon dishes and friendly service!

The Market Hall restaurant serves classic dishes familiar from Tammelantori, but we’ve also added new twists to the menu inspired by other parts of the world. The dishes continue to highlight freshness and high-quality ingredients, but flavors are also combined in more innovative and daring ways. Eurolohi at the Market Hall offers a “Dish of the Month” that changes every month, combining our familiar thinly sliced, grilled salmon with new and interesting ingredients, while maintaining freshness and delicious flavor combinations.
