Aleksis Kivi's Final Home
Aleksis Kivi's final home in Tuusula tells the story of the national writer's last months.
Aleksis Kivi’s final cottage in Tuusula tells the story of the national writer’s last months. In 1872, Kivi lived in a small cottage belonging to his brother Albert’s family; its modest interior and grounds evoke a time before the artists’ community of Lake Tuusula. The Tuusula Museum is responsible for visitor services at the site. In October, the cottage is open to the public on two scheduled open house days, as well as at other times by appointment. Guided tours are held outdoors. To reach the shared parking area, take Toivo Kuula Road to Aleksis Kivi Alley.
