The Mäntyharju-Repovesi canoeing route isn’t difficult and is suitable even for inexperienced paddlers, but the long stretches of open water can slow you down considerably in strong winds. The portage section at the Voikoski crossing is about 700 meters long, which is worth keeping in mind when planning your gear. There is one canoe cart at the crossing point; the road surface is firm, and launching into the water has been made easier. You can find a geocache along the route.
