Pääkslahti Nature Trail

A nature trail with three marked sections in the forests along the shores of Lake Hiidenvesi. Parking is available at Pääksniementie 68; the rocky and root-covered terrain is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.

The Pääkslahti Nature Trail is a marked network of trails running through the lakeside forests of Hiidenvesi in Vihti. The Kirnunkierros trail is 2.8 kilometers long, the Puumannin trail is 1.3 kilometers long, and the Laukkakallio loop is 1.2 kilometers long. A 0.7-kilometer connecting trail also branches off from the Kirnunkierros trail toward Rysätarha and Mustakellari. Along the trails, you’ll see coniferous forests, cliffs, and giant’s kettles, as well as lake views. The hike begins at the parking lot at Pääksniementie 68, where a trail map is available. The map marker in this announcement shows the trail network in the terrain. The trails feature tree roots, rocky outcrops, and elevation changes of nearly 40 meters; the trail network is not accessible with strollers or wheelchairs. In the fall, the damp terrain and rocky areas can be slippery. Visitors explore the area on their own by following the trail markers. The municipality has confirmed the area’s recreational use and the ongoing maintenance of the nature trails as part of a forest conservation project. The email address for inquiries belongs to the Vihti Municipal Tourism Information Office.
