The Pillory at Raippatori
A historic pillory in Raippatori, Tammisaari, next to Stallören Park. A self-guided outdoor attraction along the Old Town and the Länsivalli waterfront promenade.
The Raippatori pillory is a historic landmark located just outside the old town of Tammisaari. This old-fashioned pillory serves as a reminder of a time when crimes were punished by public flogging. Raippatori is located next to Stallören Park and serves as a natural starting point for a walk along the Länsivalli waterfront trail. You can stop at the square to take a closer look at the pillory as part of a self-guided tour of the old town. Toward the shore, a view of the sea opens up onto Kaupunginselkä, and along the walk you’ll see wooden buildings, small boat harbors, and parks. This is an outdoor attraction located in a public square, which can be explored on foot, taking weather and walking conditions into account. Tourist information for the area is provided by the Raasepori Tourist Information Office. Opening hours and reservation policies for nearby museums, restaurants, and guided tours should be checked separately.
