Rödjan – Courtyard and Marina
The Rödjan grounds and the boat dock on Älgön Island. A self-guided outdoor tour by boat and a nature trail of about 2 km. Bring your own drinking water.
Rödjan is a tourist destination that has developed around a former fishing farm on the southern shore of Älgön Island in the Tammisaari Archipelago National Park. Visitors can explore the farmyard and the surrounding recreational facilities on their own year-round. The site is accessible by water only—by private boat or canoe; there is no road access. The visitor harbor has two docks, and the reported depth of the harbor is 1–2 meters. The Älgön Nature Trail, approximately two kilometers long, begins at the farmyard and runs partly through rugged terrain, passing by Storträsket and the observation tower. There is no drinking water on the island, so you must bring your own water and snacks. The fisherman’s cottage serves as a nature center open during the summer; this notice does not confirm its fall opening hours. Rödjan was the childhood home of Olympic champion Thorvald Strömberg. The address refers to the excursion destination located on the island. You can contact the Raasepori Tourist Information Office for advice on planning your trip; these are not the contact details for the reception desk operating on the island.
