The Suur-Savo Museum’s temporary exhibition, opening in May 2026, will focus this time on the museum’s coin collection. The exhibition provides an overview of the currencies used in Finland, from Swedish öre to the common currency, the euro. It also examines, among other things, archaeological coin finds from Southern Savo and banking activities.

The exhibition will be on view at the Suur-Savo Museum from May 8, 2026, to March 6, 2027.
The museum is open from May through August, Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., and from September through March, Wednesday and Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

Special opening hours:
Closed on public holidays: May 14, June 19–21, December 6, and December 24–26, 2026. On the eve of public holidays, the museum closes at 4:00 p.m.
