Lake Saimaa is full of canals, each more charming than the last. On this three-canal cruise, we’ll explore the waters of Ristiina and Anttola in Mikkeli, passing through three historic canals and rock paintings on this large island. The Kirkkotaipale and Varkaantaipale canals are also navigable by boat, but the idyllic Vuolteen Canal is accessible only by boat. Along the way, you’ll experience the pristine waters and rocky shores of Lake Saimaa at their most authentic. You’ll also see the breathtakingly beautiful and uniquely shaped cliffs of Astuvansalmi, which hide thousands-of-years-old rock paintings of people, animals, and handprints. Discover the faces in the rock and hear the magnificent echo! We’ll go ashore with our guide to view the paintings from the ground, and those who wish can climb to the top of the magnificent cliff to take in the scenery.

For an additional fee, the excursion includes coffee brewed over an open fire and a snack, which you’ll enjoy at a scenic shelter along the way.
