SNOWSHOEING AT NEITVUORI. Set out on snowshoes into the embrace of Neitvuori’s winter forest. Snowshoeing lets you get up close to nature—to see and hear it. You can stroll through powdery snow on pristine snowfields or challenge yourself to a snowy adventure, climbing up the hills and descending them using the telemark technique. Snowshoeing is a healthy form of exercise that brings joy and improves the well-being of both mind and body in stunning natural settings and terrain, guided by a professional nature guide. The hike is approximately 5 km.

You’re welcome to discover the forest stories of Neitvuori and Anttola on Lake Saimaa and enjoy some winter exercise. The price of the excursion is €50 per person (children €25 per person). The snowshoe tour is led by Tiina, a local from Anttola who knows the forests and lakes of the Saimaa region like the back of her hand. Tiina’s own trails through the forests, across the lakes, and up the hills offer informative stories about nature and Neitvuori. Customized tours are also available upon request.

Itinerary: Meet at the Neitvuori parking lot; distribution of snowshoes and poles. Snowshoe hike: 3 hours, approximately 5–6 km. Neitvuori’s scenic peaks—a tour of snow-covered mountains and forests—campfire site (break)—return to the parking lot.

COME CONQUER THE SNOW-COVERED PEAKS OF NEITVUORI AND ENJOY WINTER NATURE. NEITVUORI IS A FAMOUS VIEWPOINT MOUNTAIN ON LAKE SAIMAA, FROM WHOSE SUMMIT YOU CAN SEE A BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF THE ARCHIPELAGO AMIDST THE ICE FIELDS OF LUONTERI. It is the highest scenic hill in the region (186 meters above sea level). Legend has it that “at the tip of Neitvuori, beneath the cap of Hiidenhuippu, there is a place to relax for all eternity.”
